जहाँ एक ओर विजय ने पीएच.डी. के बाद मध्य प्रदेश हस्तशिल्प एवं हथकरघा विकास निगम, भोपाल तथा विकास आयुक्त (हस्तशिल्प) वस्त्र मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार, नई दिल्ली के लिए शिल्प कला में डिज़ाइन डेवलपमेंट के प्रोजेक्ट आरम्भ किये, वहीं दूसरी ओर मैंने रूपंकर-भारत भवन, भोपाल में शोध अधिकारी एवं अभिलेखागार प्रभारी के रूप में अपनी सेवाएं प्रदान की। तदोपरांत राष्ट्रीय शिल्प संग्रहालय, नई दिल्ली में उप-निदेशक के पद पर कार्यरत रहा।
